Port Charlotte PC6 Cuairt Beatha
Cuairt-Beatha is Gaelic for ‘The Walk of Life’, and is dedicated to the workers of the Bruichladdich distillery.
- Peat level: Peated to 40ppm (parts per million) of phenols, which is considered a high level and a key part of its identity.
- Flavour profile: Despite the intense peat, the smoky notes are balanced with sweetness from its maturation in Madeira casks. It’s described as having elements of wood smoke, citrus, and butterscotch, with a spicy and toasty palate.
- Intensity: The whisky is bottled at a high alcohol by volume (ABV) of 61.6% which contributes to its intensity and “monster” character. It can be enjoyed neat or with a splash of water to soften it.
- Overall: It is a challenging and exhilarating whisky that delivers on its promise of a powerful, peaty Islay experience, making it a standout bottling for those who enjoy intensely smoky Scotch.
