Drambuie 15-Year-Old Speyside Malt Whisky Liqueur represents a distinctly premium, significantly drier variation of the classic honeyed Scotch brand Drambuie. Furthermore, William Grant & Sons initially launched this specific expression in Autumn 2011.
Subsequently, production continued smoothly for several years. However, the company completely discontinued the product line around 2020 to focus strictly on their core assortment.
The master blenders isolated this premium expression by shifting the structural ratio of the inner liquid. Standard Drambuie blends younger whiskies with a heavy, highly sweet herbal syrup. However, this expression uses a base of aged single malts sourced exclusively from the Speyside region. Consequently, the authentic scotch flavour profile completely drives the drinking experience.
- Official Nose: An understated aroma of aromatised and sweetened whisky. Surprisingly light and fresh with aromas of cut grass, corn, cherry and citrus balanced with a smidgeon of peat. Honeyed heather sits quietly in the background alongside some subtle spice.
- Official Taste: Soft and creamy with sweet fruit nuances. It presents a velvety mouthfeel featuring complex, warming, and soft malt notes.
- Official Finish: Long and generous with fine, spicy notes.
