Isle of Jura 19 Year Old 1984 George Orwell Commemorative Edition Single Malt Whisky.

As the name suggests, this was distilled in 1984 to celebrate the centenary of George Orwell’s birth, who wrote his novel ‘Nineteen Eighty Four’ whilst staying on The Isle of Jura. It was then released as a 19 year old in 2003, finished in Palo Cortado Oloroso sherry casks                                                                                

All other sources state that this had an outrun of 4800, but this comes with the original hand written sales receipt direct from ‘Isle of Jura Distillery Co. Ltd’ stating an outrun of 8000. A bit of a significant document to discuss/argue over with friends whilst having a dram in the pub. It also comes with an old tourist leaflet, although this was most likely added by the purchaser of the bottle.
