Glenmorangie madeira Wood was first released in 1995. It was the first ever Scotch to be finished in this way.
After maturing in American oak for a minimum of 12 years, it was then transferred to madeira casks for a further 5 years for finishing.
This bottling is estimated to from the 1999 rebranding and relaunch which was subsequently discontinued to much distress in 2007.

The Nectar D’or was finished in Sauternes Wine casks that were chosen by Dr. Bill Lumsden, to create a dessert-like whisky, to evoke the scent of a French pastry shop.
