Balvenie Moscatel Cask 13 Year Old
Specially created for Taiwan Island, Moscatel Cask is a tribute to whisky enthusiasts half a world away. Inspired by their discerning tastes, Malt master Kelsey McKechnie created a whisky that is equal parts rich and smooth. This reflects the shared values of Patience and Passion.
Initially maturing for 13 years in ex-Oloroso Sherry Casks adds notes of toasted nuts, sweet plum and subtle cinnamon spice onto the signature honeyed flavour. A delicate finishing period in ex-Moscatel Sherry Casks reveals aromas of citrus for a rounded finish.
Being an import, there is not many around and is highly sought after.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Elegant, layered, and floral with ripe fresh grapes, honey, vanilla, and hints of orange peel and caramel.
- Palate: Rich and smooth, featuring sweet marzipan, toasted nuts, plums, and subtle cinnamon spice. It balances intense dried fruit and honey with woody tannins and fresh citrus tones.
- Finish: Long, rounded, and delicate, with a lingering sweetness.
