The Edrington Group created this premium brand as an extension of The Famous Grouse family. The company originally named it Naked Grouse, but later rebranded the expression simply to Naked Malt.
Unlike typical blended Scotches, this production process completely leaves out grain whisky. Instead, the blenders combine exclusively premium single malts—including top-tier spirits like Macallan and Highland Park—to create a pure blended malt. To build its signature character, the liquid matures in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks for at least six months. Because these casks have never held Scotch before, they intensely flavour the whisky and create a smooth, naturally sweet profile. Drinkers will notice distinct notes of toffee, warm baking spices, dried fruit, and rich vanilla custard.
