The English 2014 Wine Cask
St. George’s Distillery produces its spirits by relying on traditional machinery, unhurried processing times, and local raw materials. For nearly 16 years, the business has operated with one core mandate: to realize James Nelstrop’s original plan of establishing a single-malt whisky production line inside England.
Nelstrop initiated the project after his retirement, submitting the planning application to break a century-long drought of whisky distilling in the country. The company hired former Laphroaig distiller Iain Henderson to run the initial production phases. Control of the distillery has since passed to James’ son, Andrew Nelstrop, who now manages the daily operations under those same initial parameters.

- Nose: Rich stewed red berries and fresh cream, accompanied by warm spice notes of cinnamon, ginger, and a touch of cedar.
- Palate: Fruity and sweet, featuring huge raspberry jam flavours, cherries, and strawberries, layered with liquorice root, caramel, vanilla, and a hint of chocolate.
- Finish: A smooth finish marked by light citrus notes and a lingering hint of peppery malt
