Released in 2013, Harald is part of The Warrior Series, a collection of single malts created for the Travel Retail market. Each expression introduces a key figure from Orkney’s Viking history and demonstrates how cask type affects the whisky’s flavour.

King Harald was the first Norwegian King and established Orkney as an Earldom.

Released in 2013, Harald was introduced as part of Highland Park’s “Warrior Series”. This collection was a line of six Non-Age-Statement (NAS) single malts crafted exclusively for the global airport duty-free market.
The series was structured so that each progressive bottle represented a step up in both cask quality and price tier:
  1. Svein
  2. Einar
  3. Harald
  4. Sigurd
  5. Ragnavald
  6. Thorfinn

The distillery matures the whisky in a combination of Sherry-seasoned American oak and European oak casks. This balanced pairing delivers a sweet vanilla, caramel, and citrus backbone from the American oak, while the European sherry oak contributes bold spices and dried fruits. Highland Park’s signature touch of gentle Orkney peat smoke rounds off the entire profile.
