The unique flavour profile comes from its unique two-stage aging process. It is initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels to establish a sweet vanilla foundation, before undergoing an additional finish in specially selected ex-Madeira wine casks to inject dried fruit and rich, cake-like complexity.
The light, elegant style of the spirit is achieved using Penderyn’s signature, highly unique single copper Faraday stills, which produce an exceptionally pure and flavourful spirit in a single distillation run.
Surprisingly for a 40% ABV whisky it is proudly bottled with no added colour and is non chill-filtered

- Nose: Aromas of fresh apples and citrus fruits intermingle with cream fudge and sultana raisins to create a complex yet fresh, clean, and well-balanced whisky. [1]
- Palate: Incredibly smooth. Both fresh and rich dried fruits abound. It is delicate and sweet on the palate, with just a hint of bitterness to remain refreshing. [1]
- Finish: A long aftertaste of Madeira cake and sultanas. [1]
