A very rare Dallas Dhu 50 year old single malt from the same named Dallas Dhu distillery which sadly closed it doors in 1983. This cask was filled on 12th March 1971 into a refill sherry hogshead . On 15th November 2021 Gordon & MacPhail drew the whisky and bottled it for the Private Collection at a cask strength of 59.2% ABV, with a very limited outrun of only 56 being bottles produced.
BOTTLERS TASTING NOTES
Colour: Dark Gold
Aroma: Fragrant lemon peel and ginger aromas combine with clove spice and a hint of dried tobacco. Rich fruitcake and milk chocolate notes come to the fore alongside subtle sweet demerara sugar.
Taste: Chilli spice gives way to flavours of dried banana and toasted almonds. Stewed red fruits lead to tart grapefruit zest, balanced by cracked black pepper.
Finish: Full with roasted coffee beans and sultanas.
