Glenkinchie 10 Year Old Older Bottling
This discontinued 10 year old expression from the 1990’s was originally released in 1987, and earned its spurs by being made Diageo’s lowland expression to join the Classic Malts range. Prior to this, pretty much all of the production from the distillery was allocated to The Haig and Dimple blends. The lowlands region historically had over 100 distilleries, but during the whisky glut of the 1980’s and 1990’s, dozens of them closed. The Glenkinchie along with Auchentoshan was one of only two remaining lowland malts at the end of the 20th Century. Distilled close to Edinburgh, it is renowned for being light and aromatic with a very fruity palate.
