We source the finest quality casks directly from Sherry bodegas in Jerez, Spain. We also source casks from American oak cooperages in Kentucky. These deep supplier connections shaped our historical foundations. They continue to drive the future of Gordon & MacPhail.
Mutual support and friendship link us to Scotland’s premier single malt producers. Consequently, Gordon & MacPhail traditionally matures and bottles whisky from a vast library of individual distilleries. We proudly release these spirits under a unique, customized “house label” for each distillery.
Our “Distillery Labels” series showcases the specific producers we work with. In many cases, these partnerships span over a century. Our portfolio features diverse expressions, from the Scapa distillery in Orkney to classic Speyside giants like Strathisla, Longmorn, and Glen Grant.
These trusted relationships allowed us to pioneer the independent bottling industry. We were among the first to capture and bottle these unique, individual production styles for consumers worldwide.
The ‘Distillery Labels’ range dovetails into the ‘Rare Vintage’ collection. This is the home to our exceptionally rare single malts also featuring the original historic distillery labels.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Warming spice – cinnamon and clove, complement rich sherried fruit. Sweet toffee apple aromas come to the fore, with a subtle hint of smoke, brown sugar and an undertone of vanilla.
Taste: Soft and creamy. Raspberry jam and apple flavours lead to gentle notes of cracked black pepper. An undertone of dried tobacco develops alongside subtle oak with a citrus zest edge.
Finish: A light and smooth finish with lingering dried red fruits.
