The Singleton of Dufftown Sunray was released as one of two expressions to join the Singleton range in 2014. The other being Tailfire and both NAS expressions. They were launched to attract a younger audience by introducing them to new tastes in specific cask maturation. Both expressions were discontinued just a few years later.
- Nose: Incredibly soft and inviting, featuring Demerara sugar, ripe baked apples, floral heather honey, blackcurrant, and hints of crushed hazelnut, often with a spicy undertone.
- Palate: A rich, honeyed texture with stewed apple sweetness, vanilla, more blackcurrant, and a gentle maltiness, developing into dark chocolate and spicy ginger notes, especially with water.
- Finish: Warm, drying, and fairly short to medium, leaving behind a pleasant balance of sweetness, spice (like ginger), and nutty, chocolate-covered fruit
