This lightly peated (10PPM) Wolfburn Morven Single Malt Scotch Whisky is made from malted barley infused with smoke during the drying process. It’s a reflection of history – the original 19th-century distillery was largely fired by peat. Gentle distillation is followed by maturation in their purpose-built warehouses. The result is a beautifully smooth and rounded whisky.
Although still a young distillery, Wolfburn was first established in 1821 in Thurso, on Scotland’s far north coast. Production ceased in 1850s, with the new distillery construction starting in 2012. Whisky production starting in 2013, their inaugural expression being released in February 2016.
They still make their whisky the same way it was always made: by hand, using only the finest ingredients, and without haste. Wolfburn’s whisky is distilled, matured and bottled on-site.
