Old Pulteney 25 Year Old 2017 Release
The oldest of the now core range from this Highland distillery which is based at Wick in the very far north of Scotland. Matured in ex-Bourbon American oak barrels for 22 years, and followed by three years in ex-oloroso Spanish oak butts.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose – Mature and fragrant, opening with heavy spices dark chocolate, which leads to rum-soaked raisin and lime honey, punctuated with equally clean notes of orange peel and baked apples.
Taste – Lush and rewarding with the flavour firmly anchored in bitter chocolate and creamy vanilla. Hints of toffee sweetness and crisp overtones of fresh lemon and coconut.
Finish – Long and spicy with a glimpse of dried fruit cake and exotic wood.
