Talisker 10 Year Old 2010-2021 is distilled at Skye’s oldest running distillery, the coastal gem being produced there since 1830.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Powerful peat-smoke with just a hint of the sea-water salt of fresh oysters, with a citrus sweetness.
Palate: A rich dried-fruit sweetness, clouds of smoke, strong barley-malt flavours, warming and intense. Peppery at the back of the mouth.
Finish: Huge, long, warming and peppery in the finish with an appetizing sweetness
While the official notes are static, many independent whisky critics and enthusiasts report tasting subtle variations between the bottlings. Reviewers often note that the newer, orange-accented bottles lean a bit sweeter and rounder with slightly more background vanilla cream, whereas this slightly older dark blue strip bottle is frequently remembered as being slightly sharper, more mineral-forward, and harder-hitting on the trademark chili-pepper snap
