The Singleton of Dufftown Spey Cascade was originally launched to replace the 12 year old in some markets due to problems with consistent supplies for aged product. However it ultimately complemented and was made available alongside it as the 12 year old was never fully discontinued. Although only released in 2015, Spey Cascade itself was discontinued just a few years later around 2018.
