Jura 10 Year Old Early 2000’s
Jura has been used by various owners as an important component in their blends However Jura has long been bottled as a single malt. An 8 year old expression was produced through the 1970s and 1980s, eventually being replaced by this 10 year old in the core range by Whyte & Mackay.
Despite Islay being its closest neighbour, just like Bunnahabhain and Bruichladdich, Jura 10 Year Old is an unpeated malt. Equipped in the violin-shaped bottle that would go on to become The Jura’s trademark. Whyte & Mackay Ltd bought the brand in the mid-90s and started to enrich the range with older bottlings.
