Laphroaig Select Pre 2023
Laphroaig released the Select with a lighter, sweeter peat profile compared to their classic, intensely medicinal 10 year old aiming for a broader appeal by blending spirits from five cask types (bourbon, Oloroso, PX, new American oak, quarter casks).
This is the slighter older version before the name was changed to Oak Select, along with new, more environmentally friendly packaging.
Laphroaig Official Tasting Notes:
Colour
Sparkling gold appearance with layered tones.
Nose
Forward peat smoke followed quickly by ripe red fruits.
Taste
Sweet at first, followed by peat smoke and dashes of ash and seaweed.
Finish
Long finish with lingering floral notes. Touches of marzipan and lime.
ABV: 40%
