Inspired by his immersive travels through Japan, Director of Distilling Dr. Bill Lumsden sought to encapsulate the sensory contradictions of the capital city. Consequently, he pioneered the distillery’s very first experimentation with incredibly rare Japanese Mizunara oak casks. Master creators masterfully marry this delicately spiced wood with traditional spirits aged in both bourbon and sherry barrels.
Furthermore, the premium liquid arrives housed inside a beautifully curated gift box. This presentation displays a custom panoramic artwork created in collaboration with celebrated Japanese artist Yamaguchi Akira. Featuring a bottling strength of 46% ABV, the whisky balances pepper against sweet incense notes. It is non-chill filtered and serves as a notable example of multi-layered maturation. [1]
