Laphroaig 10 Year Old – Boxed
The original 10 year old expression is Laphroaig’s foundation of all their whisky created to bottle the nature of Islay. Expect a big peaty slap, hints of seaweed and a surprising sweetness.
This is the newer post 2023 bottling after the updated labelling, along with new, more environmentally friendly packaging.
Laphroaig Official Tasting Notes:
Colour: Sparkling gold appearance.
Nose: Heavy smoke, peat, iodine, sea spray, and faint medicinal antiseptic (TCP/plasters), with subtle sweet notes of vanilla and caramel.
Taste: A powerful, oily blend of charcoal, smoked fish, and brine, giving way to surprising notes of oak, sweet malt, seaweed, and licourice.
Finish: Long, dry, and smoky with intense, lingering phenolic, tarry, and salty notes.
ABV: 40%
