The smooth and warming flavours present in Wolfburn Northland Single Malt Scotch Whisky come from the unhurried way in which the spirit is made, and from the maturation, which takes place in American oak quarter casks. Wolfburn Northland is very lightly peated at 5PPM and was the very first product to be released after the distillery opened in 2013, representing the first chapter in the modern Wolfburn history.
This is the older NAS statement that was changed to an 8year old in 2025.
Although still a young distillery, Wolfburn was first established in 1821 in Thurso, on Scotland’s far north coast. Production ceased in 1850s, with the new distillery construction starting in 2012. Whisky production starting in 2013, their inaugural expression being released in February 2016.
They still make their whisky the same way it was always made: by hand, using only the finest ingredients, and without haste. Wolfburn’s whisky is distilled, matured and bottled on-site.
